The specific terms governing how MySecureDeal holds and releases funds for a deal.
This Escrow Agreement applies to every deal funded through MySecureDeal, alongside our general Terms of Service. It governs how funds are held, when they release, and what happens in a dispute.
MySecureDeal acts as a neutral custodian of funds for the duration of a deal. We are not a party to the underlying sale or service agreement between buyer and seller — our role is limited to holding, releasing, and, where necessary, arbitrating funds per this Agreement.
A deal is considered "funded" once the buyer's payment has cleared and is confirmed by MySecureDeal. Sellers should not ship or deliver before a deal shows as funded.
Funds release to the seller when any of the following occurs:
Once a dispute is opened, funds are frozen and excluded from automatic release until MySecureDeal's resolution team reaches a decision, per our Dispute Resolution process.
Inspection windows are set and agreed by both parties when a deal is created and are shown clearly before funding. Failing to act within that window is treated as implicit confirmation, and funds release to the seller automatically.
Refunds to the buyer occur when a deal is cancelled before shipment/delivery, or when a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favor. Refunds return to the original payment method where possible.
The escrow fee shown at funding is deducted from the deal total at the time funds release — never before, and never as a surprise deduction. Full detail is on our Pricing & Fees page.
